Small Group Leader (Teacher)
A small group leader takes the lead in coordinating classroom activities. The teacher plans the weekly lesson and leads teaching and instruction, including activities, games and crafts to correspond with lessons. The teacher is responsible for getting to know, praying for, and encouraging the children in the class.
Small Group Assistant
An assistant is one who works alongside the teacher(s) during weekly Bible study to facilitate the spiritual development of the children. They are responsible for aiding the teacher with various tasks such as taking roll, organizing projects and overall room management. Assistants will also take on the role of in-reach and outreach coordination. They will identify ministry needs and contact absentee members of the class, as well as contacting class prospects and visitors through cards, calls and e-mails.
Desk Coordinator
Desk ooordinators help guests register for classes, answer questions about the ministry, and guide people around the facility. Desk coordinators work from 9:00 -10:30, 10:30 - 12:00, and 6:00 - 7:30 on Sundays and from 5:30 - 7:30 on Wednesdays on a rotating basis.
Parent Pager Coordinator
Parent Pager coordinators will be trained in the Parent Pager Check-in System to register guests for classes. Parent Pager coordinators work one Sunday a month and do not necessarily need to stay for both services or the entire service. We mostly need help from 8:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. This allows Parent Pager coordinators to be involved in other areas of ministry or Adult Life Groups.
Storyteller
The storyteller presents the Bible story, verse or principle of the day in a way that makes the story an entertaining and interactive learning experience for the children involved. Storytellers should be gifted in communicating details, understanding scripture and biblical concepts, and interacting with a large audience of various ages. Must be available at least once a month.
Actors
Actors are needed for themed skits, characters, game shows and Bible story reenactments. These men and women should have the ability to memorize quickly, easily jump into scenarios, and communicate well. Some drama or improv experience preferred. Must be 12 years of age or older, and available for rehearsals and performances at least twice a month.
Stage Decorator
Each month 252 Basics recommends a different theme, related to the virtue, as a springboard of ideas for setting up our stage. This usually involves only one day during the last week of the month.
Music Team
The music team will lead one or two songs in large group on Sundays at 9:15, 10:45, and 6:10 on a rotating basis. Must be 12 years of age or older, willing to learn words and motions, and available for rehearsals at least twice a month.
Volunteer Appreciation Team
The Volunteer Appreciation Team involves the greater church community and shows how important volunteers are to our ministry. Team members can divide up the year and creatively express their thankfulness in fun and simple ways with tangible items like treats, small gifts, or cards. Crafty people welcome!
Special Events Team
The Special Events Team comes together to plan and execute various GoKids events throughout the year. Special Events Team members should exhibit a high degree of organization, attention to details and a commitment to follow through.
Prayer Team
To pray and intercede for the needs of our kids, our ministry and programs, and our volunteers. Prayer for our ministry is a critical component of our efforts. We cannot have too many people praying for our ministry - please consider joining our Prayer Team!
